Who is MORSE

MORSE is a creative studio founded by Chine Barraud, a French designer and art director.

Much like Morse code served as a universal method of communication, MORSE unites visual languages from East and West—translating culture through thoughtful design. With extensive experience in branding, editorial design, packaging, and art direction, Chine crafts visual brand identities that resonate globally, blending beauty with purpose.

Chine’s fascination with Japan began in childhood, inspired by the illustrated folktale book "Diaries of the Court Ladies of Japan". This early spark led her to learn Japanese during her teenage years while deepening her cultural understanding through frequent visits to Japan during her university studies in France. After completing her formal education in design, Chine permanently moved to Kyoto, where worked as an in-house designer for companies rooted deeply in artisan kimono craftsmanship and Japanese heritage.

Today, as an independent designer, Chine continues to bridge traditions, aesthetics, and storytelling through design. MORSE offers a range of creative services, from comprehensive branding and visual direction to personalized design projects, each tailored carefully to your specific needs

At MORSE, thoughtful engagement and meaningful collaboration form the heart of every project. Whether you’re looking for a brand concept from concept to execution or a bespoke custom design, each project is handled with sincerity, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine care.
